Sandlot Mafia 17U Baseball

A family-built 17U travel baseball team built to maximize athletic potential, earn college exposure, and play the game with relentless integrity.

The Mafia Mission

The Mafia strives to provide high school players a travel baseball team where they can maximize their athletic potential, gain exposure, and navigate the college recruitment process with integrity. We strongly emphasize proper mechanics, mental toughness, and accountability on the field. We expect every player to carry himself like a scholar in the classroom, but that work is his responsibility. Our focus is helping young men become leaders on the diamond.

Our 4 Core Pillars

01 / Resilience

Treating mistakes as data and bouncing back immediately to win the very next pitch. Errors, bad breaks, and tough at-bats are part of the game. Resilience means resetting fast, competing with the same fire, and never letting one play snowball into the next.

02 / Accountability

Owning your role, your effort, your attitude, and your responsibilities without excuses. You control how you respond when things get hard.

03 / Teamwork

This team is a brotherhood. We show up for each other, protect dugout energy, and put the group first. Individual wins and achievements come when everyone buys into the team.

04 / Character

Representing your family, coaches, and community with high-level sportsmanship everywhere you go.

How We Are Different: Transparency & Merit

The Sandlot Mafia was started by like-minded families who want their young men to play ball in a supportive, challenging environment — with honesty from coaches and clarity on how every dollar is used. We do this because we care about the game and the boys, not because anyone is trying to turn a profit.

Raleigh Sandlot Mafia is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Unlike bigger commercial programs that skim fees, 100% of team budget stays with the team. If we finish a season with surplus, it goes back into the program — extra pitching instruction, prospect camps, equipment, and other player-facing needs. We do not pocket surplus for personal profit.

Roster spots are earned on the field — the same standard applies to every player who tries out and commits.
